Visual Stress and Dyslexia

Colour overlay assessment for dyslexia

When you read, do….?

  • Letters blur, or words go out of focus?
  • Letters move or appear back to front, shimmer or shake?
  • You suffer headaches from reading?
  • Words or letters break into two or appear double?
  • Find it easier to read large, widely spaced print, than small and crowded print?
  • You have difficulty with tracking across the page and lose the place when switching lines?
  • You write with inconsistent sizes, or are you slow to finish writing tasks?

If you think you suffer from any or all of the above symptoms, you may benefit from a visual stress analysis and overlay assessment.

Following an eye examination, if required, we will measure the visual systems ability to hold focus and track movements. We may prescribe spectacles or give you eye exercises as well as testing for the best colour to help your reading.

Research has shown that many people with dyslexia are sensitive to the glare of white backgrounds on a page. The good news is that these symptoms can often be relieved by the use of coloured overlays.

Reedez Overlays provide a quick, easy and efficient way to test whether using colour overlays would be of benefit. An overlay assessment takes around 30 minutes. During the test we can determine which particular colour works best for each individual, in terms of an improvement while reading. And if a colour is successfully selected, we can provide the overlays.

Your results will be reviewed in 3 months.
